Exercises & Planning

An exercise is how an organization finds the gaps in its plan before an emergency does. I do this work as part of Ally Emergency Management’s team: we design exercises that test the plan you actually have, run them on the day, and write a report that turns what happened into a short list of things to fix.

What an Ally engagement includes

  • Exercise design: scope, objectives and a scenario matched to your plan and to the requirements you have to meet
  • A Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) where every inject has a delivery method and a named owner
  • Separate MSEL printouts for controllers and players, so each group sees only what it needs
  • Briefing decks, handouts and controller packages
  • Facilitation and exercise control on the day
  • A hot wash facilitated right after the exercise, while the feedback is fresh
  • A post-exercise report (PXR) with findings mapped to objectives and a practical improvement plan

Who it’s for

Utilities, municipalities, airports and other organizations with an emergency plan to test, an exercise requirement to meet, or both.

How to book

All of my emergency management work is booked through Ally Emergency Management. Contact Ally at yourally.ca/contact and ask for Nathaniel Senff.

Web

I build websites that the people who own them can keep up to date. Most are Next.js with Payload CMS: fast pages, a clear editor, and no plugin stack to babysit. When the job needs more than pages, like volunteer sign-ups, a member portal or an internal tool, I build that too.

What you get

  • A site on Next.js and Payload CMS, with an editor your staff or volunteers can use without me
  • Migration from WordPress or another platform, with every old URL reviewed and redirected or retired, so links and search rankings carry over
  • Search basics built in: sitemap, structured data, page titles and social previews
  • Contact and sign-up forms with spam protection, and email delivery tested before launch
  • Privacy-respecting analytics
  • Custom features: volunteer shift sign-ups, passwordless sign-in, document libraries, CSV exports for your committee
  • Help setting up hosting in your organization’s own account, so the site and its data stay yours

Who it’s for

Small organizations, nonprofits, school parent advisory councils, lodges and fraternal organizations, and consultancies whose current site has become hard to maintain.

Typical engagement

A content site, or a site with volunteer sign-ups or a members area. Every project is quoted once we’ve agreed the scope.
